Memento Amari LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Dashed mobile application ("App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the App.
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

We use collected information to provide the service, process recipe imports, improve the App, communicate with you, and provide support.
When you provide a URL, we send the web page content to our backend server for structured data extraction. This processing uses AI (Anthropic's Claude API) to extract factual recipe data (ingredients, measurements, steps). Extraction results are cached on our server for up to 7 days for performance and then automatically deleted unless you have opted into Discovery contribution (see §2.4).
Discovery is a feature that surfaces cocktail recipes from across the open web inside Dashed, ranked by what Dashed users are paying attention to. Each card in Discovery is a public URL that has been shared to Dashed by someone, paired with structured metadata extracted from the page (title, ingredient list, creator name, thumbnail URL, tags). Tapping a card always opens the original source.
Discovery relies on two kinds of aggregate data, both strictly opt-in:
You are in full control: off by default; toggle at any time; recipe creators may request URL removal by emailing removal@dashedapp.com (we resolve within 48 hours and add the URL to a blocklist); Discovery never reads from anyone's personal library.
We do not sell your personal information. We use third-party service providers to operate the App:

These providers process data on our behalf and are contractually obligated to protect it. We may also disclose information if required by law, legal process, or government request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Memento Amari LLC, our users, or others. In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
4.1 Where your data lives. Your personal recipe library lives on your device using SwiftData. URLs you submit are processed by our backend; extraction results are cached for 7 days and then deleted (unless you opt into Discovery contribution, see §2.4). If you enable opt-in backup, your library snapshots are stored on our backend with rotating retention, scoped to your Sign In with Apple identity.
4.2 Security measures. HTTPS encryption for all data in transit; API key authentication for backend services; no plaintext storage of passwords. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
4.3 Cookies and tracking technologies. The Dashed website at dashedapp.com does not use cookies, tracking pixels, third-party analytics, or similar tracking technologies. We do not deploy Google Analytics, Meta pixels, or comparable services on the website. The App itself does not track you across third-party websites or services and does not deploy advertising or marketing trackers. Crash reports and diagnostic data captured through Apple's standard frameworks are governed by Apple's privacy policy.
5.1 Access and export. You can view all of your recipe data within the App at any time. Your data is stored on your device and is accessible to you.
5.2 Deletion. You may delete individual recipes within the App at any time using the delete affordance on each recipe. You may also delete your entire account directly from within the App via Settings → Account → Delete Account. Deleting your account removes all associated data from your device and initiates removal from our backup servers.
Backup retention after deletion. Due to the nature of operational backups and logs, deleted account data may persist in our rotating server-side backups for up to thirty (30) days before being purged through the standard rotation. After that window, deleted data is no longer recoverable from any of our systems.
Regarding Discovery contributions: Anonymous save signals cannot be individually deleted because they contain no information that identifies you — they are pure aggregate counts. Turning off Discovery contribution in Settings stops all future contribution immediately. Specific URLs can be removed from the catalog by recipe creators via removal@dashedapp.com (see §2.4).
5.3 Identity verification for data requests. To protect your data, when you submit a request to access, correct, or delete your personal information, we will verify your identity by matching information you provide against information on file (e.g., the email address or Sign In with Apple identifier associated with your account). If we cannot verify your identity using that information, we may ask for additional information solely for verification, deleted once verification is complete.
You may designate an authorized agent to make a privacy request on your behalf. We will require the authorized agent to submit proof of authorization, and we may also ask you to verify your own identity directly with us.
5.4 Opt-out of communications. You may opt out of non-essential communications through the App's settings.
5.5 Do Not Track. The App does not respond to Do Not Track signals because we do not track users across third-party websites.
If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA") and the California Privacy Rights Act ("CPRA").

We do not sell personal information, and we have not sold personal information in the preceding twelve (12) months. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising purposes.
6.2 Your CCPA rights. Right to know, right to delete, right to correct, right to opt-out of sale or sharing (nothing to opt out of), right to non-discrimination.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, you have additional rights under the GDPR: legal basis (consent, contract performance, legitimate interests), rights to access / rectify / erase / restrict / port / object, and the option to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Dashed is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 21. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 21. If we learn that we have collected personal information from someone under 21, we will delete that information.
The App may contain links to third-party websites (such as original recipe sources). This Privacy Policy does not apply to those websites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the App or by other means. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when this Privacy Policy was last revised.
